Even though it was sent as a demo to the record labels, Spinefarm Records thought it is absolutely fantastic and decided to release it. Angels Fall First would be the key for it.
Then, he decided to take the band to a heavier direction. It was about 1996 when Tuomas Holopainen’s ambitions grew a little bigger and wanted to do something more than just an accoustic band. Who knew that this early adulthood plan that had been in Tuomas’s head once, would now become Finland’s biggest band and one of the most successful European bands of all time. One of them, was Emppu Vuorinen, the guitar player up to today, while Tarja Turunen, the once called “Angel Of Music” and now “Finland’s most metal diva” came afterwards to complete Tuomas’s plans a band playing accoustic folk music, music for campfires. Tuomas Holopainen, the maestro, mastermind and keyboard player of the band, gave birth to Nightwish during summer 1996 in Kitee, Finland, while sitting around a campfire with some of his closest friends.
Strange enough if you think that they have always been about innocence. Nightwish is a severely controversial band, especially over the last 10 years. Everything that came afterwards is nothing more than a try-to-be-like band. Those are the only original symphonic metal bands ever, pioneers of their genre. Infelizmente, quando ainda colhia os frutos do magnífico Once, a banda anunciou a saída de Tarja Turunen em 2004. O líder e principal compositor do conjunto é o tecladista Toumas Holopainen, porém este posto passou a ser dividido em 2001, quando a banda ganhou um reforço de peso, o baixista Marco Heitala ex- Sinergy, e atual Tarot, entre outros trabalhos. O Nightwish, pode ser considerado um precurssores do estilo conhecido como Symphonic Metal, além de ser uma das primeiras bandas de metal a contar com uma mulher nos vocais que utilizava o canto lírico, a maravilhosa Tarja Turunen.
Uma das bandas que eu mais curto! Formada em Helsink na Finlândia em 1996 a banda supreendeu a todos já em 1997 com o belíssimo Angels Fall First.
